About Aviation Summer Camp
Aviation
Summer Camp is a camp established in late 2007 to serve students
with an interest in aviation. The founder is a high school and
college teacher who has taught for 18 years. His interest in
young people and realization that many students never have the
opportunity to experience aviation has led to the creation of
this camp and Unique Educational Experiences Inc.
The Airman Camp is for students
9-16. During the week, students will gain a deeper understanding
of the field of aviation through building paper and balso planes,
flying simulators and various R/C planes. This camp will occur
at Millikan
High School with field trips planned to the Long Beach Airport
and the Planes of Fame aviation museum. Lunch is included!
Adult Aviation Fantasy Camp is
a new camp for 2009. This is ideally suited for teams of two
or individuals. It is a great way for father-son , mother-daughter,
or husband-wife team to share the experience of flying. It could
even be a great date (and second date). The camp begins with
a Friday night social at the airport before we meet on Saturday
morning for ground school. A short flight to Catalina for lunch
and while on Catalina you will learn about airport operations
before you trade places for the flight back to Long Beach. Each
participant will log flight time. Once back in Long Beach we
will debrief and discuss Sundays adventure. Sunday will begin
in a similar way but we will be headed for another local airport.
The California
Flight Center will provide certified flight instructors
to guide your experience and endorce your log book!
Unique Educational Experiences Inc. will provide
a great aviation experience. If you have any questions, give
us a call or send us an email. We may be able to offer a partial
scholarship for youngsters with a demonstrated need.
Thanks and have a great day.
